I am a Person Centred Counsellor based in Ashton in Makerfield, near Wigan, which is easily accessible from Manchester, Liverpool, Preston and Warrington. I have my own private premises, with plenty of free parking. This provides a safe, confidential space for individuals and couples to work through feelings of anger, distress, loss or trauma to enable them to live a healthier, more fulfilling life. I have additional qualifications in CBT and SFBT and I am a member of the BACP.
I have many years experience working therapeutically with anxiety, depression, addiction, anger ,stress, workplace issues, identity and bereavement. I have a particular interest in working with young people and family issues. I have experience working with neurodiversity, including ASD, ADHD and Dyspraxia .
I have worked with families with addiction issues, young people exploring their identity and with employment problems. I have experience working with Infant Loss and Divorce. I have also completed Continuous Professional Development in Creative Counselling.
I am warm, caring, empathetic and non judgmental. I offer people a safe way to help unpack or offload feelings including guilt, shame or embarrassment to help them to become more confident and raise self esteem. I am inclusive and I’m LGBTI friendly. My life experience helps me to understand and help people process feelings around parenting, divorce, blended families and starting afresh. I have faced many challenges myself. I am open, accepting and enjoy helping people to help themselves. I offer clear boundaries and work within the BACP ethical framework ensuring I maintain professional standards. I have worked therapeutically with care leavers and troubled families .
